Therapeutic Coaching

Welcome to a new way of approaching your mental health and life situations. I am a clinical psychotherapist and a psychospiritual counselor. I engage in a type of therapeutic coaching practice that incorporates and weaves together the various and sometimes divergent aspects of your life. This is a model of therapeutic coaching that combines mind, body and spirit, or what I refer to as the trinity of life. Together we look at all of the factors that contribute to what is going on in your life: historically, currently, psychologically, physically, emotionally, nutritionally and spiritually.

It is important to understand and remember that spirit does not mean religion, but rather the spiritual aspect of yourself. For some that consists of a specific religious faith, for others it means a connection to nature or energy and for others it is something they are not yet aware of in themselves and wish to explore. The body, the mind and the spirit do not work independently of each other. As humans we are a delicate but powerful eco-system that works optimally when all our aspects are in alignment.

A fundamental component of the psychospiritual therapeutic coaching approach is seeing psychological changes, mental health symptoms, and emotional crises as a catalyst for growth and transformation which can lead to positive life changes and expanded states of consciousness and awareness of self and others.

Psychospiritual transformation and healing is the integration of psychology and spirituality to observe negative life events or a symptom of emotional discord as a experience and an opportunity for internal emotional growth and awareness, rather than treating them as things to be banished, suppressed, moved past or avoided as quickly as possible. You will be guided and taught how to work with the symptoms and difficulties you are experiencing as a catalyst for transformation in mind, body and spirit.

The wonderful part of engaging in therapeutic coaching is that it is an invitation to yourself to enter into a place of growth, exploration, self-care and self-love. A place that in this current world can feel very illusive and overwhelming. I remind people that you cannot give away resources that you do not have within you. You end up just feeling depleted and defeated. Psychospiritual therapeutic coaching is a tool that can give you the ability to generate those resources and experience a deeper understanding of self and the world around you.

I bring with me over 23 years of working in the field of psychotherapy. My specialty focused on trauma recovery, but also included the gamut mental health disorders from depression, anxiety, mood disorder, grief, sexuality etc. Over the course of my years in practice I saw more and more the lack of whole person treatment and how that was counter-intuitive to the point of therapy. Mental health isn’t just a “problem of the mind”. Mental health is intricately tied to physical and spiritual health. The body cannot heal when the mind is in pain, and the mind in pain cannot heal when the body is experiencing discord, and neither can work in harmony when there is no feeling of presence of the spirit. I like to think of spirit as the conductor. When we are listening to our inner guidance and allowing the mind to quiet and body to relax, we are capable of amazing healing insight.

If you are feeling guided to this form of integrative self exploration and healing, I would love to speak with you and explore further if it is a good fit for what you are looking for.

I believe it is important to have a good support team available to facilitate the therapeutic work that I do with my clients in regard to the physical health component. I refer patients who are interested, to a variety of complementary services such as functional medicine, acupuncture and energy work . If you are currently on any psychotropic medication, it is important that you continue to work closely with the practitioner who is prescribing those medications, and to follow their instruction regarding medication and or any other mental health protocols they suggest. I do not prescribe medication and I do not do any medication management.

Currently I am offering sessions via telehealth video conferencing.

Physical office hours are not available at this time.
